Any feedback on Alora? We are looking at multiple web based options. Alora seems comprehensive and affordable with the exception it does not allow for scanning forms to the EMR. We are medicare certified and also do a significant amt of private duty. Many softwares are geared specifically towards medicare, we are about 50/50.

McKesson is similar in price (at least at our size) to HomeCare HomeBase. I am interested in thoughts on CareAnyWare, too, as it is about half the cost of McKesson and HCHB.

Great idea Susan!
I’ve actually implemented McKesson and Misys (now Allscripts) and I have seen and love HCHB! I’ve done all three demos recently and will definitely write them up this month.
It seems most of my shoppers just can’t afford that implementation fee, but at 25-60K of some of the others I’m reviewing, they aren’t that far out of field! Stay tuned

Why not do the big guys as well – McKesson, HCHB, Mysis.

I came to work on an agency that uses SelectData and I have been nothing but disappointed, and this includes with their coding service. I have never outsourced coding before, my previous employers always did it in house and made sure we knew how to do it. Not a week goes by that I do not find glaring errors. They are very guilty of upcoding IMHO. The worst part about it is the turn around time. It takes them 2 weeks or more between receipt of documentation to completion of coding. I have items outstanding today, June 2nd, from the first week of May. That is totally inexcuseable. It is almost impossible to be compliant.

They did OASIS C calls at the end of last year. Maybe we have too high of standards for them, but we found we did not learn anything new from those calls.

I’m sorry but in my book they get a D-

Our organization has been using Consolo since we opened in 2007. We are very satisfied with the company. Being a rual hospice, we could not run our program without the ability to web chart. We are in two states and 5 counties with one main office.
Our charting time and costs have gone down by 50%.
The QAPI reports are a needed in order to be compliant with NHPCO

Our hospice agency has been using Consolo for three years and continue to be very satisfied with the program. We find the computer system to be very “user friendly”, especially for nurses that are sometimes resistive to change from paper (I was one of those).

Consolo has scheduled releases that keep the system up-to-date on requests of consumers. Consolo staff is very attentive to their consumer needs and their educator, Lisa Nicola, is wonderful!

As a hospice QA nurse, consolo software produces a vast number of elements for required reports. This is great whether your agency is Medicare, CHAPS or Joint Commission Accredited.

The agency hired several new team members and are amazed at how much Consolo does. When using Consolo software there is a learning curve, but once the system is utilized and the staff master the finer points of Consolo software they love it.
